I tried to buy ammo with my mom at walmart, this is THEE ONLY TIME I have had trouble. There is this liberal bitch behind the counter, when she asked mom what kind of ammo, mom asked me. I answered to the Blady "WWB .45ACP Bulk Pack", she refuse to sell it calling it a straw purchase because I answered. Mom doesn't know anything about ammo/guns so thats why she asked me. When the Blady refused to sell it because a minor answered, mom said it was for dad, who was busy at the moment, that bitch said he would have to come himself and buy it (you all know how fast 16$ .45ACP goes out of stock).
I explained to her and the manager about the Youth Sized Pink single shot Cricket .22 rifle, and that it is designed for youths, which in itself is a straw purchase and that they were self contradicting in their statements.
They both went as far to LIE to me saying it was federal law, everyone else has no problem showing me a handgun or letting me examine ammunition (even taking it out of the box and viewing/comparing). This frustrates me as .45ACP is SOOOOO expensive and hard to find.
Our rights have been violated; I'm calling in the big guns (NRA and news writer friend) about this new tactic of making me at the mercy a inexperienced liberal to get my ammo.
Is this, buying ammo for someone else (like husband) a federal offense (she said "felony")?
Should I go as far as to complain to the NRA?
I'm looking for the best hand gun in terms of: affordability, quality, stopping power, and ammunition interchangability. Thank you!
I have heard this bill prohibits mail-order/ internet sale of handgun ammunition and .223 for some reason, does this include .308/7.62 NATO? Can you still buy other rifle rounds online?
allot of people online say they buy ammo at walmart i live in CA more specifically in the San Fernando area so my question is do they sell ammo for a 9mm handgun at my local walmart's???
I am an 18 year old college student who is interested in purchasing his first gun in the summer. I am interested in guns and shooting and want to become more familiar with guns and having gun(s) around the house for home defense. Presently my only experience with guns is with my uncle's 12 and 16 gauge shotguns.
Nobody in my family knows much about guns and of course like other gun-ignorant people, are scared of guns. This will make me one of the few people from my California-family who have entered the realm of firearms.
I am wondering three things primarily.
a) What would be the best way for me to prepare and learn about buying and owning guns
b) What kind of gun should I purchase as a good, fairly cheap beginner firearm
c) Does anyone have a good link to specifics about California gun laws?
Mainly, I am wondering what kind of beginner gun ownership courses I should look to take (if any). Is it true that gun shows are better places to buy guns than gun shops?
Also, I am considering now to buy a shotgun (most likely, they seem the cheapest, simplest to maintain and handle) or maybe a Colt 1911 or a Glock model because ammunition is cheaper and I will need a lot of practice. I understand I cannot buy a handgun until I am 21, but I have heard that you can OWN a handgun if you're 18, just not buy one - say if someone buys one and then transfers ownership to you. Is this true?
Thank you for your help.
The U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Gang Unit seized dozens of high-powered weapons and arrested 11 men—three of them Bell Gardens residents—on Sept. 24; they face federal charges for trafficking weapons and drugs following a nine month investigation.
Two Bell Gardens half-brothers, Henry “Silent” Valenzuela, 37, Sergio “Lil Silent” Calderon, 23, and their stepfather, Javier “Padrastro” Avila Lopez, 49 of Watts, are identified as heads of “Barrio Evil 13” in a sworn affidavit by a federal ICE agent.
An undocumented immigrant and Bell Gardens resident, Everado “Lalo” Venegas-Lumbreras, 38, was also arrested. He was allegedly a “runner” for Lopez and transported and delivered narcotics and firearms. Lumbreras’ has an outstanding deportation order dating back to 1999.
The investigation is part of an ongoing initiative by ICE’s National Gang Unit, “Operation Community Shield,” which investigates transnational street gangs conducting crime in the U.S. and other countries, according to an ICE statement and the affidavit.
Dozens of high-powered weapons, including assault rifles, handguns, silencers, a shotgun and thousands of rounds of ammunition were seized at four locations where search warrants were served, federal officials said.
The affidavit listed Valenzuela’s home in the 6600 block of Ajax Avenue, Calderon’s residence in the 5800 block of Gage Avenue and a warehouse in the 7500 block of Scout Ave. where additional illegal weapons were found, according to Dixon.
ICE Spokesperson Virginia Kice told EGP that the gang is based in South Los Angeles, “but several of the members do currently reside in Bell Gardens.”
According to the affidavit, Valenzuela claimed to be a hit-man for a Tijuana Cartel and said he had been paid $15,000 for a “hit” in Barstow, California on Sept. 2. He also allegedly tried to recruit an undercover investigator to carry out “hits” in the Los Angeles area for $5,000 to $10,000. Valenzuela said he had six more murders-for-hire in Los Angeles still to carry out.
Valenzuela has a criminal record dating back to 1999 that includes arrests for vandalism and possession of a controlled substance. He was charged in 2007 with assault with a deadly weapon, but was not convicted.
His younger half-brother, Calderon, was acquitted of the same assault charge. In 2003 he was arrested by Vernon police for vandalism, but was not convicted, according to the affidavit.
Valenzuela and Caldron’s stepfather, Lopez, was arrested in 1999 for Shooting at a Dwelling, and later convicted of Discharging a Firearm in Public.
Lopez allegedly told an informant that he smuggled undocumented immigrants and made frequent trips to Mexico to escort “load vehicles” across the border. He said he charged $2,500 per person.
The three men are accused of acquiring and distributing narcotics (cocaine, heroin and methamphetamine) and firearms in Los Angeles and Bell Gardens.
“The gang members and associates charged in this criminal complaint are alleged to have trafficked not just in drugs, but in weapons, and not just any weapons, but weapons clearly intended for criminal conduct, including an AK-47 assault rifle, a Tec-9 sub-machinegun, a MAC-11 sub-machinegun, and a sawed-off shotgun,” said Acting U.S. Attorney George S. Cardona in a statement. “The arrests made yesterday eliminate a source of firearms that would otherwise be out on the streets being used to commit additional violent crimes.”
Also arrested and facing federal charges for conspiracy to distribute a controlled substance, including heroin, cocaine, methamphetamine and marijuana are: Eduardo Ortega-Plascencia, 39, an undocumented immigrant residing in East Los Angeles; Margarito “Tito” Enciso, 27, of Long Beach; and Silverio Palma-Carlin, 31, of Jalisco, Mexico. Two other men have also been arrested on state drug trafficking charges: Francisco Arellano, 32, and Alfredo Rutillo-Medina, 27, both of Nayarit, Mexico, according to ICE.
If convicted, the maximum possible penalty for the charges is life in prison, according to ICE.
An ICE spokesperson, Virginia Kice, told EGP the gang is based in South Los Angeles, “but several of the members do currently reside in Bell Gardens.”
Bell Police Department Detective Terry Dixon, who assisted in the investigation and carrying out the search warrants, said “Barrio Evil 13” is a new gang in Bell Gardens. It is believed the gang members have moved there, and did not sprout from the community, he said. The Bell Police Department has a part-time field officer who assists ICE’s Gang Unit, he told EGP.
“That’s all we’re targeting, gangs,” Dixon told EGP. “We’re not targeting ‘average Joe’ citizens.”
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives; the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department; the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services; and officers from the Bell, Huntington Park, Vernon and Long Beach police departments assisted in the
Can I have it Unloaded in the car? I know i cant have it on me Concealed and I have seen stuff about not having ammunition in the gun or within arms length. What are the restrictions?
I am in TN if that helps
ok after going and reading my state laws. Still hard t understand. First I know i can buy a handgun from a gun show or private seller (2nd party) but I noticed it talks about MINORS having handguns with them not Adults without a carry permit. The laws say i must be 21 to purchase from a dealer and 21 to get a carrying permit.
So I wanted to get an AR in 5.56 or 6.8mm.
I have always wanted one of these rifles and can now afford one.
I'm really loving that LWRC M6A2.
My problem is, where could I shoot it here in the bay area? Specifically, close to San Jose CA?
I would hate to get one and find out I have to travel 2-3 hours to go and shoot it. Most in-town ranges only allow handgun calibers and not rifle ammunition.
Any San Jose shooters with some advice?
I am considering a Rossi .357 mag for a personal protection gun. I've never shot a gun like that so I'm sure I would practice with .38 spec. ammunition. Is this a sufficient caliber for self defense? I know lots of people aren't huge fans of the rossi brand, but I'm not an avid shooter so this gun won't be at a shooting range every weekend. Maybe a few times a year. I am on a limited budget which is why I'm looking at this brand. I know I shouldn't put a price on a gun that could potentially save mine or someone else's life, but I'm sorry I have to! Any info on the caliber and what kind of recoil I should expect considering I'm not very experienced.
NEW ORLEANS – Bullet-makers are working around the clock, seven days a week, and still can't keep up with the nation's demand for ammunition.
Shooting ranges, gun dealers and bullet manufacturers say they have never seen such shortages. Bullets, especially for handguns, have been scarce for months because gun enthusiasts are stocking up on ammo, in part because they fear President Barack Obama and the Democratic-controlled Congress will pass antigun legislation — even though nothing specific has been proposed and the president last month signed a law allowing people to carry loaded guns in national parks.
for rifles and handguns,i have been a reloader for years and years.
ok how do you get a license?
I've just landed in the garbage deposit unit with Ashley. I don't know how to get out. I have limited shotgun and handgun ammunition only. There are two monsters in there that will not die! They have these spikes that shoot out of there body and there healing rate is beyond belief. Is there anyway to defeat them? I tried blowing up the flammable gas canisters while the monsters were near them but had as much effect as flash grenade. How do I get out??
I am a foreign national currently residing in California as non-resident alien (J-1 visa). I am interested in acquiring a handgun and a rifle for target practice. As far as I understand, the State of California does not restrict gun possession by aliens, but the Federal Gun Control Act of 1968 specifically prohibits gun possession by nonimmigrant aliens (922d5) UNLESS they have a hunting license (922y2A, part 2).
Is it correct that I shall be able to lawfully acquire California-legal firearms and ammunition after having qualified for and received my California Resident Hunting License, and that no other documents except such license and verification of legal status in the US will be needed?
I really want to go to a shooting range. I am 15 years old, and my dad would take me, who is 42, which means I have proper adult supervision. I live in Northern NJ. Where can I go to shoot things like handguns, shot guns, and even rifles if it is possible?
Also, how do shooting ranges work? Do you pay a fee for a certain amount of time? Or do you "rent" a gun and pay for ammunition? How do they work (for the most part) and how much (on average) does the service cost?
(Obviously it needs to be open to the public)
Thanks
I live in NYC and now I'm not going to have my friends on the train to help me.Plus I'm scared to go back to school cause I feel endangered, reporting 'it' only made things worst.

What would you say if I gave you 11 reasons why the elections in 2010 will be the most important in the history of the United States ?
1. What if I had told you in October 2008, before the last presidential election, that before Barack Obama's first 100 days in office, the federal government would be in control of both the mortgage and the banking industries? That 19 of America 's largest banks would be forced to undergo stress tests by the federal government which would determine if they were insufficiently capitalized, so they must be supervised by the government?
Would you have said, "C'mon, that will never happen in America ."
2. What if I had told you that within Barack Obama's first 100 days in office the federal government would be the largest shareholder in the US Big-Three automakers: GM, and Chrysler? That the government would kick out the CEO's of these companies and appoint hand-picked executives with zero experience in the auto industry and that executive compensation would be determined, not by a Board of Directors, but by the government?
Would you have said, "C'mon, that will never happen in America !"
3. What if I had told you that Barack Obama would appoint 21 Czars, without congressional approval, accountable only to him, not to the voters, who would have control over a wide range of US policy decisions. That there would be a Stimulus Accountability Czar, an Urban Czar, a Compensation Czar, an Iran Czar, an Auto Industry Czar, a Cyber Security Czar, an Energy Czar, a Bank Bailout Czar, and more than a dozen other government bureaucrats with unchecked regulatory powers over US domestic and foreign policy.
Would you have said, "C'mon, that will never happen in America !"
4. What if I had told you that the federal deficit would be $915 billion in the first six months of the Obama presidency - with a projected annual deficit of $1.75 trillion - triple the $454.8 billion in 2008, for which the previous administration was highly criticized by Obama and his fellow Democrats. That congress would pass Obama's $3.53 trillion federal budget for fiscal 2010... That the projected deficit over the next ten years would be greater than $10 trillion.
Would you have said, "C'mon, that will never happen in America !"
5. What if I had told you that the Obama Justice Department would order FBI agents to read Miranda rights to high-value detainees captured on the battlefield and held at US military detention facilities in Afghanistan . That Obama would order the closing of the Guantanamo detention facility with no plan for the disposition of the 200-plus individuals held there. That several of the suspected terrorists at Guantanamo would be sent to live in freedom in Bermuda at the expense of the US government. That our returning US veterans would be labeled terrorists and put on a watch list.
Would you have said, "C'mon, that will never happen in America !"
6. What if I had told you that the federal government would seek powers to seize key companies whose failures could jeopardize the financial system. That a new regulatory agency would be proposed by Obama to control loans, credit cards, mortgage-backed securities, and other financial products offered to the public.
Would you have said, "C'mon, that will never happen in America !!"
7. What if I had told you that Obama would travel to the Middle East, bow before the Saudi king, and repeatedly apologize for America 's past actions. That he would travel to Latin America where he would warmly greet Venezuela 's strongman Hugo Chavez and sit passively in the audience while Nicaraguan Marxist thug Daniel Ortega charged America with terrorist aggression in Central America .
Would you have said, "C'mon, that will never happen in America !!"
8. Okay, now what if I were to tell you that Obama wants to dismantle conservative talk radio through the imposition of a new "Fairness Doctrine." That he wants to curtail the First Amendment rights of those who may disagree with his policies via internet blogs, cable news networks, or advocacy ads. That most major network television and most newspapers will only sing his phrases like state-run media in communist countries?
Would you say, "C'mon, that will never happen in America !!!"
9. What if I were to tell you that the Obama Justice Department is doing everything it can to limit your Second Amendment rights to keep and bear arms. That the federal government wants to reinstate the so-called assault weapons ban which would prohibit the sale of any type of firearm that doesn't require the shooter to pull the trigger every time a round is fired. That Obama's Attorney General wants to eliminate the sale of virtually all handguns and ammunition, which most citizens choose
for self-defense.
Would you say, "C'mon, that will never happen in America !!!"
10. What if I were to tell you that the Obama plan is to eliminate states rights guaranteed by the Tenth Amendment and give the federal government sweeping new powers over policies currently under the province of local and state governments and voted on by the people. That Obama plans to control the schools, energy production, the environment, health care, and the wealth of every US citizen.
Would you say, "C'mon, that will never happen in America !"
11. What if I were to tell you that the president, the courts, and the federal government have ignored the US Constitution and have seized powers which the founders of our country fought to restrict. That our last presidential election may have been our last truly free election for some time to come.
I know, I know what you will say. "That will never happen in America !"
Thank you
I'm thinking of getting into reloading, but I know absolutely nothing about it. What's so progressive about a "progressive press"? What's a "station"? Stuff like that makes me less confident in going out there and getting started.
I've figured out that you need to tumble the cases clean, punch out the old primer and reshape the case, cut clean the reformed case, and then add a primer, powder, and bullet. I probably am missing half the steps, and I still don't know anything about equipment, brands, or models.
Please recommend an entire list of what I'll need to reload centerfire pistol and rifle rounds, and possibly shotgun too. Specific is good (brands/models), and I'll need the whole thing including bullets, primers, powder, and other medium. Budget is currently anywhere from $300 to $700, but is flexible.
As for laws, it would be good too if I knew about any laws regarding the small scale manufacture of ammunition. CA HSC 12001(f)(1) prohibits having more than 20 pounds of smokeless powder. Nothing in the CA Penal Code as far as I can tell (apart from selling handgun ammunition to minors). Am I missing something still?
Thanks a lot to those of you who reload and keep ammunition demand (and prices) down!
Hello,
I would like to know how to purchase a gun. I am only 17 years old, so the knowledge gathered here will be used in the future. I will admit, and you can probably already tell, that I am a complete novice. I have been inspired by video games and movies, I want to shoot competitively/for fun and with great accuracy. I really would like to start by purchasing a rifle, and outfitting it with a telescopic sight. I just have a few questions, that I would absolutely love to have answered.
1. Where is a legal site to purchase guns?
2. How does buying a gun work?
3. Do I need to pay a fee of any kind, or have a permit for all guns?
4. How much do rifles usually run for, and the ammo?
Also, I just need some gun information. Especially related to "sniper rifles", if you will. Such as shooting accurate, how to shoot period, ammunition difference, etc. Just the basics would be nice, but intermediate to advanced material could be bookmarked. Don't think that Hollywood or video game producing companies have corrupted my mind, because they have not. This is why I am asking these questions, to learn the facts. I have a couple thousand dollars saved up from programming work I do online, and I will gain even more before my Birthday. Any information about handguns, shotguns, or rifles would be appreciated. Thank you!
JUVENILE SALE
Is it illegal to sell handguns to anyone under 21 years of age? No
State law does not restrict selling handguns to juveniles under the age of 21 by unlicensed sellers. Under federal law, only federally licensed dealers are prohibited from selling or delivering handguns or ammunition for handguns to any person under the age of 21. A strong state law is needed to stop unlicensed persons from selling handguns to those under the age of 21

I often go to the local range near Chicago, I was wondering if I could but ammo somewher else like walmart. The range gun shop charges quiet a bit for ammo. I know that Chicago has it so that you cant legally own a handgun. I usually rent a gun at the range. I would like to purchase the ammo somewhere else and take it to the range.
For weeks now I've been looking for some 9mm ammo for my Ruger. I've hit local stores as well as calling up Cabela's all with the same response which is: sorry, we're all out. Are people going into stores and buying up any and all handgun ammo they can get their hands on or what? I understand once we got a democrat into office that ammo would pretty much fly off the shelves for the first couple months until supply caught up with demand. But now it's over a half year since he got in and still the same thing. What gives? Man, I'd love to be working for Federal or Remington in the ammunition dept. Those people gotta be pulling like 2 shifts back-to-back. LOL. Thanks
On May 1, 1982 the city passed an ordinance [Sec 34-1a] requiring every head of household to maintain a firearm together with ammunition. It was passed partly in response to a 1981 handgun ban in Morton Grove, Illinois. Kennesaw's law was amended in 1983 to exempt those who conscientiously object to owning a firearm, convicted felons, those who cannot afford a firearm, and those with a mental or physical disability that would prevent them from owning a firearm.
A criminologist and gun-control critic attributes a drop of 89% in the residential burglary rate to the law.
Crime just isn't much of a problem in "Gun Town U.S.A." According to state figures, Kennesaw's per-capita crime rate has remained essentially static (and low) since 1983.
Should Gun ownership be mandatory?
Not a single resident of Kennesaw has been involved in a fatal shooting - as a victim, attacker or defender. There has been one firearm related murder but not from a resident of Kennesaw. Since the ordinance, no child has ever been injured with a firearm in Kennesaw. Crime dropped after the ordinance and the city has maintained an exceptionally low crime rate ever since, even with the population swelling from 5,000 in 1982 to approximately 30,000 today. The truth is crime has plummeted and population has soared.
I understand that you need to be 18 for purchase of a rifle or shotgun, and you need to be 21 for a handgun. Is that law the same for the ammunition?
I have several different type of rifles and pistols. I have shotguns, hunting rifles, assault style rifles, handguns, revolvers, blackpowder rifles and pistols.
So, I am kind of a collector, but not officially.
I have ammunition for all my firearms, in excess of 6000 rounds. According to 0bama, if you have 2000 or more rounds he considers it an arsenal, which would turn me into a criminal for having a firearm hobby.
Does 0bama mean 2000 rounds for one firearm? or 2000 rounds in general? Because some of my rounds are just slugs for black powder guns.
I don't carry over 2000 rounds in my car anymore, just in case that is what 0bama means by having 2000 rounds of ammunition, but can he really tell me how much ammunition I can own? And what does he mean by ammunition, slugs, cartridges, magazines?
What a confusing mess.
As a rule of thumb, what is a more reliable indicator of stopping power in a cartridge, the weight of the bullet, or the velocity. I notice that in both rifle and handgun ammo that the lighter bullets are moving out a bit faster (which makes sense) while the heavier are moving slower but delivering a larger payload. I understand that both will kill, but I wanted to know which one is more of a factor in stopping a person or beast.
For example, .45 ACP+P
I've been looking and trying to figure out the laws with transporting weapons across state lines in this case from GA to FL and back. Is it legal to take a rifle from back and forth between the states if it's legal in both, dose the gun need to be in a locked container, how should it be transported, should the firearm and ammunition be separate and same for transporting a handgun. Is a GA CCW valid in Florida? Can you legally go to a range in Florida with a rifle or handgun provided the range dose not have a rule against it. Can a range legally rent a firearm to a out of stater for a range session?
I'm highly interested in purchasing a few boxes of Federal's new .410 handgun ammunition but I can't find anyone that has it in stock or will even allow back order.
Do you know of any place that has is available online?
and i am not really sure how to do it. i have to go to florida (i am a resident of ohio) and pick them up but do not want to travel with them on my person on the ride back. There are at least 4 handguns, 2 long guns, and several types of ammunition that need to come back. The sheriff has had these items since my fathers death 4 years ago and they are now able to release them to me. Anyone who has knowledge (a legal firearms dealer or gun shop owner) that can point me in the right direction?
I'm asking mainly about them using their service rifles/handguns, not for their own personal firearms. Is there a limit on how often they can go to the range to practice?
Any ammunition that could be used for a handgun is hard to find . Why?
What exactly are the laws for carrying a handgun in your vehicle? I have read many things about these laws, but still a few things I'm not sure of. Like, can you carry both the firearm and ammo within arms reach (but, of course, out of sight)? Also is it legal to leave the gun in your car?
Everywhere I have read says that you can carry a weapon anywhere in the vehicle as long as it is not in plain view, but it doesn't say if you can keep the ammunition with it (loaded or unloaded). Of course, I am not a member of a gang, nor would I be committing other crimes, and am otherwise able to possess a firearm.
Basically, I want to be able to keep a firearm in my car for protection. I want to keep it unloaded, but with the gun and ammo not too far from each other (i.e. gun under the drivers seat, magazine in the glove box). And I want to be able to keep it there at all times. Is this legal?
Ok so here's the deal I am 20 years and was pulled over in rockville, MD with a springfield xd .40 locked in the trunk and the ammunition in the center console and was charged with hangun in vehicle and minor with a handgun. Does anyone know where I can find the specific law governing this?
If your so sure im wrong, then why does it keep getting harder to find and buy ammunition?
Its funny to see all of you who were SO FAST to tell me EXACTLY everything the Gov has been trying to do to make people like me think that it actually is laxing. Its not. Guns are more expensive than ever.
Kissinger was quoted saying that all americans would be disarmed by October THIS year.
for those of you defending Obama-
'1994 to 2001 - Obama was on the board of the anti-gun Joyce Foundation. This foundation is the largest funding source for radical anti-gun groups in the country.
* 1996 - Obama supported a ban on the manufacture, sale and possession of handguns.
* 1999 - Obama proposed a 500 percent increase in the excise taxes on firearms and ammunition. This tax would effectively punish gun owners for buying guns and ammunition.
* 2003 - Obama voted in support of legislation that would have banned privately owned hunting shotguns, target rifles and black powder rifles in Illinois.
* 2004 - Obama voted against legislation to protect homeowners from prosecution in cases where they used a firearm to halt a home invasion.
Do we need to even bring up rahm emanuel? He was also a state rep in IL until Obama appointed him as Chief of Staff. He has a F rating by the NRA for his duties in IL.

FEAR TACTIC? if anything, I am the one who is afraid. Seriously. He supports a proposal outlawing RELOADING a weapon, calling it EXPLOSIVES MANUFACTURE. WTF?? seriously. The punishment is extradition from the u.s.
and he supports this.
I'm not a criminal defense lawyer, but my friend from law school does crimdef in the Dallas, TX area, and he makes VERY GOOD money defending people who get caught trying to bring firearms through those TSA checkpoints at commercial airports. Not even knives - his whole business is firearms and checkpoints. And he has a lot of work!
I don't get this. How the heck could you possibly be dumb enough to try to bring a firearm through a TSA checkpoint? It's not a perfect system, but for a regular metallic firearm with ammunition loaded, you will LIKELY get busted. Those things look HUGE on the scanner.
So, why take that bad bet? The thing is, TSA and airports are FEDERAL facilities. That means, when they arrest you, you will be charged with a FEDERAL (not a state) law violation, and you'll have to get a lawyer who does federal courts defense (like my buddy - he charges upwards of $15,000 per case).
Why are there so many dumb people in America? I did some research, and there are only a tiny handful of guys who do this same line of work in Canada (apparently Canadians rarely try to bring firearms through airport security), and none in the UK. Every major city in the US has at least a few guys doing TSA defense.
Are Americans just dumber in this regard, or what? Why the heck would you waltz right through a checkpoint with your firearm when your chances of getting through are so low?
By the way, some guy was arrested for murder at LAX yesterday. His mistake? Tried to bring a handgun through the TSA checkpoint...
It's mostly for self defense and just for having one. I'm going off to college pretty soon and I want to have something to protect myself with just in case somebody tries to mug and murder me or invades where i'm staying at.
Which one do you recommend, and why?
Or is there another handgun you would recommend?
Also what ammunition do you recommend for those weapons?
But if it is true then my parents will just buy it for me and give it to me even if I can't buy it myself.
I don't know what some of the commenters are saying about it being illegal for me to have these guns, but I live in Kansas and it's perfectly legal to have them it's just if you want a conceal and carry you have to wait till you are 21.
The UK has very tight handgun laws, but a friend of mine makes good money secretly shipping handguns to buyers in the UK. His buyers prefer to do business with him rather than the Eastern European gangsters because my friend is not a gangster; he's a legitimate businessman who does this on the side, and he always provides high-quality products and ammunition.
What is my possible legal exposure if I get into this business, assuming I don't go visit the UK myself (since, obviously, I AM breaking UK domestic laws)?
Philosophically, I don't feel that the UK has the legal right to regulate the manner in which its citizens choose to defend themselves, so, on a moral basis, I feel quite fine doing this.
I don't feel it is moral for any nation to ban the private ownership of handguns. That's MY decision.
The pistol I am interested in acquiring is the Thunder 5 pistol that chambers both .410 gauge and .45 long colt ammunition. I have checked that the company that manufactured the pistol, (MIL, Piney Flats, Tn.) is on the list of approved firearms. The problem that has risen is that to get the firearm shipped into the state, a ballistic fingerprinted bullet would be required that was fired by the manufacturer. However, MIL went out of business in the late 90's so I am currently unsure of how to go about getting the said fingerprinted bullet. I've asked around at the local gun store but they were unsure of how to solve this problem as well. Thank you for your time and I appreciate any feedback.
I've always been "moderate" when it comes to my political beliefs and have been very open to suggestion from anyone, provided they make a valid point. Still, I find it hard to deliberate upon our 2nd Amendment rights.
That having been said, my question is this: How come the international media usually portrays the 2nd Amendment rights of American citizens as a negative liberty? I have not only seen this written in countless articles from "firearm-free societies" such as the U.K., but also from societies in which firearms are permitted (albeit restricted), such as Australia.
An example? I recently read an article written from scoop@theage.com.au, in which an Australian reporter visited a gun show in Virginia. Her report discussed the abundance of "military-style" assault weapons, saying they could fire 600 rounds per minute! (She obviously isn't familiar with the Hughes Amendment of the Firearm Owners Protection Act of 1986). She also stated that our Nation's mass-shootings and overall INCREASE in crime were directly correlated to the availability of firearms. I don't know if she's aware, but our nation's homicide rate is at the lowest it's been in twenty years, with "handgun violence" dropping substantially since 2003, and "other firearm" violence steadily declining since 1981! (Bureau of Justice Statistics)
There were several other annoying statements, such as the abundance of 9mm & 45mm ammunition (quite large!!). The current cost of the aforementioned? $400.00 a box!
Are these articles written simply to persuade the citizens of said country that their governments have done an "outstanding job" by restricting firearms? This theory would be easier to validate in a country where civilian access to firearms has been outlawed. However, in a country such as Australia where various handguns, shotguns, and semi-automatic rifles are legal (with proper permit), I wonder if the article doesn't serve another purpose. Your feedback would be appreciated.
(There are many activist groups in "the outback" which support the usage of firearms, such as the Sporting Shooters Association of Australia; however unlike the United States, most pro-gun citizens of Australia value their firearms solely for sport-shooting and not for self-defense purposes.)
I've checked Wal-Marts, Pawn Shops, and sporting good stores...and they all just stare at me blankly...whereas in Louisiana where I come from, these 3 places have aisles of ammo...I need a new gun cabinet too...my last one got destroyed in the move...and as I got it at Wal-Mart...........
I know that in the state of Georgia you must be 21 to purchase handguns and handgun ammunition, but what if that person buys it for someone who is for example 19. Would this be illegal?
see, im wanting a nice pistol (recreation) and im only 19 but, if i had someone whom i live in the same house with, buy it, i could then carry the gun to and from the range, or keep it in my possession in my room etc. is this correct?
I was just wondering if this place had an indoor range or outdoor range? What are the prices for renting a gun and price of ammunition? Time limit for shooting? What kind of guns do they rent? Is it only a handgun range or is it for both handguns and rifles? Please do not answer "call the range".
okay, so i got to go shooting for the first time and i really enjoyed it and would like to do it again:) basically i was wondering 1) what is the age you have to be to fire a gun at a shooting range 2) how old do you have to be to purchase ammunition 3) do you have to show any papers to bring your own gun to a range? 4) how old are you supposed to be to own your own gun? (handguns and rifles) 5) about how much is the average shooting range cost? all of these questions are based off colorado law? im 18 as of january and would like to be able to go again! lol thanx for all your help everybody!
